Abstract

Mountain Goats (Oreamnos americanus) within Kootenay National Park inhabit every major mountain and appear to be one of the most numerous of the large ungulates present.Gibbons (1978) flew all the mountain ranges within the park and obtained a count of 231 goats and an estimated minimum population figure of 305 animals.
